Your experience does not confirm mine, I've seen examples of men standing up to other men when they have behaved inappropriately towards women. For example, I recently saw a drunk man pick up a woman he didn't know and twirl her around, other men stepped in and stopped him, then the drunk man got kicked out of the bar by the bouncer.
