Yeah I agree with you although I have no dating experience with men, I'm just coming from a background of being a mostly hetero man with 0 close male friends, I find men generally uncomfortable to be around and really struggle to connect emotionally with men at all.

My dad was angry and abusive so that's probably the main root, although he could also be loving and emotionally open sometimes, so I'm surprised that making close friends with men is so difficult for me. I need more therapy about this topic tbh but I think at least half my struggles are because men in general are so closed off in all ways.

I get on much better with women in general, and my girlfriend is my best friend and main social point of reference. I'd like male close friends but really struggle in this area.
