We’re all responsible for someone like Hitler coming to power, all of us. A madman does not come to power unless the conditions are right for it.

Categorising other humans as ‘evil’ or ‘monsters’ is a comforting lie but it is not accurate or useful. We are all capable of cruelty and evil deeds, it’s only through self-awareness, self-examination and critical thinking that we have a hope to behave better towards each other.
