I bet you've experienced violence from far more men than women (if at all from women). Your emotional reaction here ignores reality.

It's the difference between punching up and punching down. As a man, you historically and currently benefit from a system of patriarchy and violence (compared to women). You're at the top of the food chain so to speak. When someone lower in the chain highlights a problem of male violence in society, you need to listen more and react less.
