Thanks for writing this, the phrase 'kids are resilient' makes me feel very uncomfortable because adverse events affect children as much as adults, just in different ways (as you highlighted).

Adults who say the phrase give me the impression that they are unwilling or unable to see the child's perspective, which is especially egregious considering that children need more validation during adverse experiences, not have their needs ignored because they are considered 'resilient'.
