Thank you, your writing makes me feel better. I’ve been in the process of letting go of my siblings for a few months now, it’s painful but the right thing to do. After 10 years of making consistent and earnest effort with my siblings (4 of them!) and their children, and getting almost nothing back from them (the parents, not the children), it’s too painful to continue with this unrequited love. Time to say goodbye, and to be honest, it’s a relief. I’ll miss my nephews and nieces though, I’m still going to try to see them if I can. I’ll keep sending cards every year, that might be all I can do for the children unfortunately.
