Thank you! Best explanation I've read. Back in 2011, I considered buying a few bitcoins but when I looked into them, I thought 'it sounds like a scam at worst or huge risk at best'. It also seemed like a lot of effort just to buy these weird bitcoins things, so I opted out. I was also very poor at the time, which is probably the most important reason I di not buy them.

If I'd bought Bitcoins then, I could have made a lot of money now... but I could have also lost money. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I'm not a fan of gambling away my hard-earned money (especially when I'm poor).
