I'm sorry you're in a toxic situation with relatives, I can relate. I can understand why you would want to disappear from that.

I moved away from my hometown many years ago, all of my family still live there. I sometimes wonder if I've developed further than them emotionally. I don't blame my siblings, we all had the same crappy upbringing, but it makes me sad sometimes thinking about all the missed opportunities for a loving extended family.
