I wasn't sure if your original comment was sarcastic humour or genuine to be honest.

My reply is a sarcastic take on the idea that some adults and parents feel it's ok to express how much they can't stand to be around kids. Children are hard work for sure, but I find it disturbing to revel in how great it feels when children are not around.

I have an 8 year-old son, single parent, joint-custody (50/50), no family support. It's really hard sometimes, and I enjoy my free time. But I always miss him. It certainly doesn't feel amazing to be without him.

Maybe your situation is different and you have your children with you all the time or you don't have support. If so, I sympathise, that's hard.

Probably just ignore my original comment, I regret the sarcasm, it's not a constructive thing for me to do.
