I somewhat agree, but people in many poorer countries have much closer family bonds, and stronger and more established spiritual bonds. So it's difficult for us to assess exactly how bad they have it, and how good we have it.

Don't get me wrong, I want wealth to be much more evenly distributed. My point is that in the west, we seem to focus on wealth alone as a measure of happiness, when this is not the case. We're very spiritually and family-bond poor in the West.
