I mean no offense to anyone, but a person who refers to themselves as 'gifted' is probably not as gifted as they think they are. From a different perspective, everybody is good at something, so we are all 'gifted' in one way or another, we just need to find what our gift is in each of us rather than label some people as 'gifted' and not others.

I also take issue with labelling children 'gifted' or 'genius', which hurts as much as it helps. I've known several 'gifted' children as adults who could not live up to the huge expectation of being a 'genius' and live diminished lives in adulthood. It's cruel.

No child is a genius, it's impossible - real genius takes decades to develop, children have not developed enough to be classed a genius.
