I had exactly the same experience with him. We had a long discussion that ultimately went nowhere — he left one, just one, reasoned and balanced reply to my points, then immediately went back to hate-filled rants. I gave up at that point.

I’d feel more sorry for the guy if he wasn’t so toxic. He admitted to me that his extreme views were sort of an act to get attention— a very pathetic individual indeed.
