I grew up in a sleepy market town in south-east England (Aylesbury), it was shit. Expensive houses, no jobs or industry, no interesting things to do or people to meet. It's a classist nightmare as well.

If you decide to stay, move to a city in England (not London), you'll find a much better life. I'm in Southampton, its' great. You could try Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester etc etc, there's so many great cities here that are not London. London is amazing to visit but never to live.
