I completely agree, it’s never ok to hit a child. I got smacks every day for years. When I was 15, my father and I had an argument and he grabbed me by the collar —this time I snapped and nearly punched him in the face. He never touched me again.

To me, this incident proves that the ‘discipline’ of violence only applies to children weaker than the adult — as soon as the child can fight back, this form of ‘discipline’ magically disappears. Adults who hit children for any reason are bullies.
