I agree with your sentiment but disagree with the way you've handled this. Sharing the name and picture of the man who left an offensive comment might lead others to harass him. I can't condone potential harassment of anyone, even those who have done something to invite it. Your punishment is harsher than his crime.

You also highlight the fact that this person has only 8 followers. This implies he is very new to Medium and hasn't yet learned that Medium is not like other online spaces - troll comments get blasted here, which is a good thing, but naming/shaming others is not cool. When I first started here, I left some angry, insensitive comments on some articles. Then I learned better, and went back and apologised to those I had potentially offended.

But your treatment of this person here is unlikely to encourage him to reflect and apologise. Instead of educating him on his bad behaviour, it's likely that you have shamed him into silence and may have caused others to harass him.
