Great article, this 'attention economy' we all live in seems to be having detrimental effects on people's mental health. The answer is so simple though - stop giving your attention to garbage content on Facebook, twitter etc. Stop watching so much biased news. Read more books for information, stay off apps.
There's a term "Future Shock" (coined from the book of the same name by Alvin Toffler) that refers to the psychological harms of living in an environment with too much change in too short a period of time. Toffler argues that the accelerated rate of technological and social change leaves people disconnected and suffering from "shattering stress and disorientation"—future shocked. Seems very apt for the state we all seem to be living in right now.
