Good point, I'm glad things worked out for you.

I've seen the opposite happen where an intelligent or capable child is touted as some 'genius' by the clueless adults around them but the child can never live up the promise (understandably so) in adolescence/young adulthood and they stop trying to excel at anything. I've known a child 'genius' who dropped out of university because their expectations could never match reality, which is really sad.

The label 'genius' is a curse, it should never, ever be applied to any child, I don't care how intelligent they are. As if a child could actually become a genius, the idea is absurd! It takes years of practice and maturity to become an actual genius in any field, it's not something children have the capability of becoming.
