Alcohol can kill you you the first time you use it - if I down a bottle of vodka, I'll probably die. It's WAY easier for me to obtain a bottle of vodka than a needle of heroin.

Your opinion stems from the fact that society normalises the hard drug called alcohol. Other hard drugs like heroin are stigmatised, but heroin helps relieve pain for millions of people every day (morphine). Alcohol has no medical benefits except as a disinfectant!
